Mother’s Day is fast approaching and it may be a little early to start thinking about Mother’s Day, but consider this: your mother is essentially one of the most, if not the most, important person in your life. She gave life to you, she witnessed the worst of your tempers, and she still loves you no matter what. What I’m trying to say here is, take some time to prepare [in advance] for this year’s Mother’s Day- she simply deserves the best.
Let’s face it, she would probably be happy enough with a longer-than-usual phone call from you. That’s a given. But wouldn’t she be even happier with some Mother’s day flowers or a gourmet meal? There’s so many ways to make her happy, and it doesn’t have to feel like a drag to plan it out, make it fun for her and for you.
Here, in a series of four articles, I will give you all types of advice on how to make your mother happy on mother’s day. Mostly, I’ll be talking about flowers, but maybe I’ll throw in some recipes or fun crafts!
Here are some fun ideas:
1. Is your mom an interior design lover? Maybe you can try gifting her an extra special Mother’s Day flower bouquet that matches the colors and aesthetic of her room. If she is a neutral color lover, and her room is white or beige, you might want to give her some flowers that will pop! How about some purple Lavender flowers? They look and smell
great!
2. Do you have a crafty mom? Are you a crafter? If yes, try this: If your mom has a favorite mug, sneak past her and steal it away from her for a couple of days- think about getting her some flowers that compliment the colors of her favorite mug and get them. On the special day, take her mug with flowers + some coffee or tea, and voilá! That
is one thoughtful and easy gift!
3. Maybe you are looking to take your mom on a surprise, fun activity. How cool would it be to take her down to your favorite flower shop and let her pick flowers for her whole house?!
4. For some reason hot soups are always a hit with mom. Give her a surprise and make some a yummy soup meal for her special day! Invite her over for a celebratory, surprise dinner or lunch. As preparation, on the dinner table, arrange large Magnolia flowers and use them as adornments on the empty soup plates. They will look beautiful on their own; your mom will love the extra unique detail!
