Christmas flowers are so important for this year. The year of changes and doom. Christmas is a time of hope for this crazy world we live in today. Christmas is the promise of the new things to come and its the day hope was born unto us. Christmas flowers are vibrant and fresh smelling. The Christmas greens bring in some out door fragrance and last a long time. The flowers are so bright and beautiful with all the shiny and sparkly trimmings that adorn them. Christmas flowers, to me, bring in some of the magical atmosphere that Christmas holds for all of us, young and old.
I remember the scents from Christmas when I was younger and all the lights and sounds. We always had beautiful fresh pine wreath at the door with shiny balls and red berries. Our neighbor would always have a candy wreath on hers. It was all magical and loving. Everyone was in a happy mood and festive parties were going on all around us. I grew up on Long Island New York, so when we did Christmas , we did it in a big way. The outside evergreen trees were even lit up and we would go sing Christmas caroles to all that would listen. It was very traditional and just felt amazing.
The Christmas flowers and poinsettias were every where you look. The roses and lilys seemed like they were extra special and vibrant, sending their fragrance all over the place.
I love to send Christmas flowers to my friends and neighbors so that they could also enjoy the atmosphere of fresh lush greenery and Christmas flowers. The center pieces were put in the center of the table with the candles glowing warmly. Surrounded by a Christmas feast of cakes and cookies and all the food prepared by mom, of course. The knowledge of a new year in the near future with a chance of new beginnings and hope. I love every thing about this time of year. We could all use a little more love and closeness.
